Allia is a pioneering hand embroidery
house rooted in Nafees Zardosi

Steeped in Mughal lineage, the house approaches tradition as something living, revealed through fine precision, delicate threadwork and exquisite surfaces that carry a quiet depth and emotion.

The work unfolds according to its own rhythm, shaped by time, handwork, and deep respect for the artisans whose knowledge sustains the craft. Each creation exists as a living archive; considered, crafted, and worn with intent.

ARTWEAR

Wearable art sits at the centre of Allia

Each piece is conceived in a way which allows heritage techniques to exist within contemporary life, where colour becomes language, embroidery an expression, and the body its site.

The work is articulated across two interwoven expressions. One devoted to tradition; and revival of historic techniques on heritage materials. The other centred on innovation; introducing new materials such as leather and tools that allow the craft to evolve with integrity.

FOUNDER'S VISION

Craft is universal

Alongside the studio’s in-house work, Allia and her team collaborate with craftspeople from around the world creating a dialogue between tradition and innovation. These partnerships enable the exploration of new materials and techniques, resulting in pieces that extend and evolve the language of Nafees Zardosi hand embroidery. This honours its heritage while carrying it into new contemporary forms.

the journey

We create slowly, deliberately and with reverance to craft

An Allia commission is a personal journey, unfolding over six to twelve months. Beginning with an intimate consultation, each piece evolves through bespoke design, meticulous hand embroidery, and a series of fittings; with only a few pieces created each year, every Allia piece remains rare, considered and deeply personal.
